Smart match simplifies user registration by allowing users to enter any identifier—such as Member ID, Social Security Number (SSN), Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI), etc.—into an identifier field. Users no longer need to remember specific identifier formats.
To identify a user Smart Match uses the following attributes:
- First Name,
- Last Name,
- Date of Birth, and
- Identification Number.
The system uses these attributes to find the member’s golden record in the EiMP system. This optimization enhances the user interface to simplify and improve user identification, which in turn boosts registration rates.
Smart Match is employed in various scenarios, including the creation of member accounts, account step-up (including login step-up and assisted step-up in applications that supports hybrid user experience), new account recovery, fast-track registration (FTR), assisted registration and SSO flows.
