Configure authentication and registration policies

Last update:

Scenario
An administrator needs to configure Authentication and registration policies for an application in the Aikyam Identity Console (AIC) to enforce secure sign-in behavior and compliance during user onboarding. These policies define how users authenticate (e.g., re-authentication for sensitive actions, session detection) and how they register (e.g., unique email, mandatory phone number, consent prompts). Proper configuration ensures strong security, prevents duplicate accounts, and aligns with privacy regulations such as COPPA. It also helps organizations deliver a consistent and compliant user experience across healthcare portals.
Prerequisites
  • Administrator has access to the Applications page with role-based permissions.
  • The application is already registered in AIC.
  • Business requirements for authentication and registration behavior are finalized.
Roles authorized
  • Application administrator
Steps
  1. Sign in to Aikyam Identity Console.
  2. Navigate to Applications from the left navigation pane.
  3. Search for and select the application.
  4. Go to the Policy tile.
  5. Click View & Update.
  6. Under Access policies, configure:
    • Authentication policies (Re-authentication, Session detection, Universal sign-out)
    • Registration policies (Unique email, DOB, consent prompts)
  7. Click Save.
