Register bulk users via CSV import

Last update:
Aug 21, 2026
Scenario
A new application is launching, and hundreds or thousands of users need to be onboarded. The administrator uses the Bulk import feature to upload a CSV file containing user details, roles, and group assignments. The system sends each user an invitation email with a registration link. This allows users to create their account and verify contact information. Once registered, users are automatically assigned to the specified roles and groups giving them instant access to the application features aligned with their role and group.
Prerequisites
  • Administrator has access to the Users page with role-based permissions.
  • Applications and roles/groups are configured for assignment.
  • A valid email address for the user is available.
  • CSV file meets system requirements:
    • File size ≤ 10 MB, up to 50,000 records, max 50 attributes per user.
    • Mandatory fields: Username, First name, Last name, Email, Invitation target URL, Role name (for policy-off apps).
    • Use sample CSV template available in the UI for correct headers.
Steps
  1. Sign in to Aikyam Identity Console.
  2. Navigate to Users from the left navigation pane.
  3. Click Import users.
  4. Upload the prepared CSV file.
  5. Validate the file and correct errors if needed.
  6. Click Submit to initiate the import.
  7. Monitor status under My Imported Files (In Progress, Success, or Failed).
Note:
  • Login callback URLs act as Invitation target URLs.
  • For policy-on apps, roles auto-inherit via groups.
  • For policy-off apps, roles must be explicitly specified in the CSV.
  • Common errors: header mismatches, invalid email formats, duplicate entries.
