Manage passkeys for a user

Last update:

Scenario
A user contacts support stating that passkey sign‑in is not working as expected, is unavailable during sign‑in, or is causing confusion due to multiple passkeys associated with the account. The user may request assistance to temporarily stop using passkeys, restore access to existing passkeys, or remove one or more existing passkeys. An administrator needs to review the user’s authentication activity to understand recent passkey usage and, based on the user’s request, perform an appropriate passkey action at the user level. This process is completed using audit visibility and user management capabilities.
Prerequisites
  • Administrator has access to Users based on role permissions.
  • A user identifier (for example, username or email address) and an approximate date and time of the reported sign‑in issue.
  • Explicit user confirmation for the requested passkey action (enable, disable, or delete).
Steps
  1. Sign in to Aikyam Identity Console.
  2. Navigate to Users from the left navigation pane.
  3. Search for the user using Basic search or Advanced search and open the user profile.
  4. Go to the Activities tab to view the User activity events recorded for the user.
  5. Review the events to understand recent passkey usage and the authentication flow
  6. Go to Account settings in the user profile and locate the Passkey section.
  7. Perform the required passkey action on existing passkeys (Enable, Disable, or Delete).
  8. Confirm the action to complete the request.
Note:
  • A single user account can have up to six passkeys configured. Administrators can delete selected passkeys or all passkeys based on user confirmation.
  • Enabling or disabling passkeys controls passkey availability. Deleting a passkey permanently removes it from the account.
  • Passkey actions are user level operations and do not modify application configuration or authentication policies.
