Deactivate an account

Last update:

Scenario
A user’s account needs to be temporarily suspended due to inactivity, security concerns, or policy violations. The request may come from the user or an internal compliance team. The support agent uses the Aikyam Identity Console to securely deactivate the account, ensuring the user cannot access the system while preserving all data for future use. Before performing this action, the agent confirms the reason for deactivation and records an Incident ID for compliance. This process helps maintain security, prevent unauthorized access, and ensure adherence to organizational policies.
Prerequisites
  • Agent has access to the Users page with role-based permissions.
  • User profile exists in the system.
  • Reason for deactivation is documented (e.g., Incident ID).
Steps
  1. Sign in to Aikyam Identity Console.
  2. Navigate to Users from the left navigation pane.
  3. Search for the user using Basic search or Advanced search.
  4. Open the user profile and go to Account settings.
  5. Scroll to the bottom and click Deactivate .
  6. Enter Incident ID and Reason when prompted.
  7. Confirm deactivation to restrict access.
Note:
  • Deactivation is temporary; account data remains intact.
  • Always record Incident ID for audit and compliance.
  • Lock/unlock due to failed login attempts is a separate process.
